Microdermabrasion uses a powerful mechanical exfoliation technique ideal for individuals who seek to improve skin tone and texture. It is a safe procedure using either a diamond tip or stream of fine crystals to gently buff away the superficial layer of dry, dead skin cells to reveal healthier, younger looking skin. The vacuum pressure is adjusted depending on the sensitivity and tolerance of the skin. This treatment helps to decrease acne scars and enlarged pores, smooth uneven skin tone and texture, brighten dull-looking complexion, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and improve sun damage. For the best results, 5 to 6 treatments are recommended.

1. Diamond-Tip Microdermabrasion

Diamond-tip microdermabrasion uses a combination of a fine abrasive tip and vacuum suction applied to the skin to gently buff away the outer layer of dead skin cells. The depth of abrasion can be controlled by adjusting the pressure on the handpiece and the duration of suction on the skin.

  • with Essential Facial (60 min) $109
  • with Classic Facial (75 min) $139
  • with Deluxe Facial (90 min) $169  (first visit $109)

2. Crystal Microdermabrasion

Use a crystal-emitting hand piece to gently spray the fine crystals on the face and rub away the outer layers of skin. Like the diamond-tip hand piece, dead skin cells are immediately suctioned off. As a result, the skin is thoroughly cleansed, and clients will see results after 3 to 7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What to expect after Microdermabrasion treatment?

After micro-dermabrasion, you can anticipate minimal to no downtime. Immediate results will be noticeable, such as smoother and brighter; the skin is thoroughly cleansed, especially for those with larger pores and lots of blackheads. Some individuals may experience mild side effects, including slight tenderness, irritation, and redness. These typically subside within a few hours after treatment. The skin may feel slightly dry in the initial days. That’s why we recommend combining micro-dermabrasion with oxygen or a HydraFacial to optimize the results. Typically, within 4-7 days, you’ll observe further improvement. Your skin will appear even more radiant, with a balanced tone, diminished pores, and reduced fine lines.

2.What’s the post-care of Microdermabrasion?

  • Keep the skin hydrated by applying hydrating products and drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid sun exposure; use an SPF 50 sunscreen if you’re going out.
  • Avoid using harsh products such as strong exfoliants, acids, retinol, or topical acne medications for a few days after the treatment.
  • avoid heat—skip hot showers, saunas, or activities that may cause excessive sweating for a couple of days.

Remember to treat your skin gently without any rough handling or aggressive rubbing, and adhere to any specific post-care instructions provided by your skincare professional

3.How many Microdermabrasion sessions are recommended for the best result?

The number of Micro-dermabrasion sessions can vary depending on individual skin condition and goals. In general, we start with four sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Additionally, depending on your specific skin type and concerns, it’s a good option to alternate micro-dermabrasion with other skincare treatments such as oxygen facials, HydraFacials, or microneedling. This is common for achieving optimal results.

4.What’s the difference between diamond tip Microdermabrasion and crystal Microdermabrasion?

Diamond tip Micro-dermabrasion and crystal Micro-dermabrasion are both popular and effective methods for exfoliating the skin to enhance its texture and appearance. While they share similarities, there are slight distinctions between the two.

Diamond tip Micro-dermabrasion utilizes a wand with an abrasive surface to physically exfoliate the skin, with dead skin cells being simultaneously vacuumed away. On the other hand, crystal Micro-dermabrasion involves fine crystals, usually aluminum oxide, or sodium bicarbonate, being sprayed onto the skin to abrade the surface, effectively removing dead skin cells. The used crystals, along with the exfoliated skin, are then vacuumed away.

While opinions may vary, based on our experience, both methods are suitable for all skin types. However, we tend to prefer crystal Micro-dermabrasion for individuals with oilier or more congested skin, as it has proven to be more thorough in such cases. Conversely, diamond tip Micro-dermabrasion may be the preferable choice for individuals with sensitive skin.

5.Who is a candidate for microdermabrasion?

Micro-dermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and colors. It is suitable for those looking to improve the texture and appearance of their skin. It is particularly beneficial for individuals with:

  • Dull-looking skin complexion
  • Enlarged pores, excess oil, or blackheads
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Mild acne scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation and sun damage
  • Melasma and Mild Rosacea

However, it’s important to note that Micro-dermabrasion may not be suitable for individuals with severe acne, active infections, or certain skin conditions. Consulting with our skincare professionals is crucial to determine if Micro-dermabrasion is the right fit for you.
