RMT (Registered Massage Therapist)

A massage provided by an RMT is typically covered by your insurance benefit and direct billing is available. Our experienced RMTs will work with you to understand your specific needs and recommend the best massage for optimal results. Massages can increase circulation, alleviate muscle tightness, release endorphins to diminish aches and pains, and reduce anxiety and depression.

Hot Stone Massage

One of our most popular treatments, the ancient art of hot stone massage uses smooth, heated stones, most commonly basalt lava stones, to massage the body. This type of massage therapy typically combines Swedish massage techniques to help release toxins and improve circulation. The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage manipulates the superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue to balance muscle tone, increase oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. The technique uses a variety of movements such as long strokes, soft kneading, gentle tapping and stretching. This type of massage is recommended for your first session.

Deep Tissue/Sport Massage

Deep tissue massage is especially helpful for aches and pains. The technique is similar to Swedish massage but the movements are slower and the pressure is  stronger.  Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain, injury rehabilitation, and other conditions. Popular with athletes, this specialty massage helps prevent sport-related injuries.

Lymphatic Drainage massage

The lymphatic system drains excess fluid from the body and aids the immune system in removing and destroying waste, dead blood cells and toxins. Lymphatic drainage massage uses gentle, rhythmic strokes to promote the flow of fluid under the skin back into blood circulation.

Aromatherapy Massage

Blending art with science, aromatherapy uses essential oils to promote holistic well-being. The therapeutic power of touch combined with the medicinal properties of essential oils can help reduce aches and pains, reduce stress and anxiety, calm the mind or enliven the body. Since each oil has different healing properties, your therapist will help select the best oil for your needs.

Prenatal/ Postpartum Massage

Prenatal massage provides a safe, effective treatment that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body and emotions goes undergo the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It can ease muscular pain and tension, improve circulation, reduce swelling in the legs, and help decrease stress, anxiety and physical fatigue.

Clients may be asked to lay on their side during the massage. This treatment is not recommended during the first semester.

Reflexology

With origins in Chinese and Indian medicine, reflexology has been practiced as an art and science for over 5,000 years. It involves applying pressure to specific reflex points on the feet that correspond with the body’s organs. The intention is to activate the flow of energy through the nerve endings on the sole of the foot, through various pressing, pulsing, holding and kneading actions. Its most basic function is to stimulate the body’s own natural relaxation response.
